Solution Engineer 3

Job Statement
Researches, collects, and reports information on the capabilities and capacity of hardware and software used in system designs. The position aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers. Responsibilities include providing equipment functionality, capability reports and being the technical liaison to sales team. Responsible for providing technical support and insight on advanced infrastructure and collaboration technologies supporting best practice initiatives and sales. Emphasis on creating customer solutions leveraging partner technologies and internally delivered services. Evaluate and design new network/collaboration solutions to solve customer needs. The role requires familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while performing a variety of complex technical tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide integration consulting services for complex unified communications technologies and business needs
- Provide technical and presales solution design support using best practice initiatives for unified communications
- Assist delivery in establishing level of effort necessary for integration engineers to deploy solution
- Develop and deliver technical proposals, slide presentations, and conduct technical presentations for customers, partners and vendors
- Create or assist in the creation of the LOM necessary to implement the customer's desired solution, and interact directly with the customer to insure the project scope is met within the LOM generated for the effort
- Assist in the development of new product offerings as assigned.
Job Specifications and Requirements
- BS in CS or related degree and 7+ years relative work experience. 3+ years working in a Presale Engineering capacity. Computer experience with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and AutoCAD.
- CTS, CTS-D, Extron, Crestron, AMX, Biamp, Polycom and Tandberg/Cisco certifications strongly preferred.
- Ability to follow a plan of activities, execute with punctuality and attention to detail and work as a team member.
- Industry and manufacturer certifications necessary to design, build and implement communications technology are a plus.
- Ability to follow instruction while being a valuable member of the team.
- Other functions as required to meet the needs of the corporation.
- Work independently with little direct supervision or review
Working Conditions
Varying indoor working conditions, including office, mock-up area, and customer work sites often in a fluid environment. Scheduled travel up to 45% or more.
