Senior VTC/UCC Engineer HQ-CIO-09

Provide direct support to the I2C Facility, CEO Estate, and conference/training rooms' a/v systems as well as providing technical support and expertise to the internal IT team under the Director of Information Management. This includes doing daily operational checks (when available or event driven) every morning with emphasis on the I²C. Act as a liaison with UCC technical team concerning HQs' system upgrades, troubleshooting, and event support. Independently plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity. Complexity of assignments typically requires considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems, and make decisions in situations where standard engineering methods, procedures, and techniques may not be applicable.

REPORTS TO: Director of Information Management (DoIM)

 

• Provides technical resolutions and designs.
• May supervise or train and be assisted by installation and/or maintenance technicians. Performs, at this level, one or a combination of such typical duties as: Prepares designs and specifications for various complex systems integrations.
• Plans approach to solve design problems; conceives and recommends new design techniques; resolves design problems with contract personnel, and assures compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
• The candidate shall be a key to the design, operations, maintenance, implementation, and integration of all aspects of systems hardware and software.
• The candidate shall be equally familiar with hardware installation and removal, and fabricating custom hardware and cables as required.
• The candidate shall be fully capable of providing telephone diagnostic support based on in-depth knowledge of the systems, networks and associated equipment.
• This person shall have a working knowledge of unique and critical issues associated with the use and design of integrated systems.
• The candidate shall also have a working knowledge of LAN based networks and associated hardware including fiber and copper and shall be cognizant of other communications techniques.
• Other functions as required to meet the needs of the corporation

 

• BS in EE or Electronics Technology (ET) or two (2) year degree in ET with two (2) years experience, or six (6) years of field service experience.
• Computer experience with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project and AutoCAD.
• Ability to follow a plan of activities, execute with punctuality and attention to detail and work as a team member.
• 5+ years with Crestron DM Systems and support of Crestron Control systems.
• 5+ years supporting PC / Servers (Windows based) and internet connectivity, remote support applications.
• 1+ years with Jupiter PixelNet, and video wall systems.
• 1+ years with BiAmp Audio systems, Multi-Zone audio 70v and 8 ohm.
• 2+ years with Cisco / Tandberg VTC
• 2+ years with Digital Signage (to support the X2O systems)
• Prior experience supporting high level Executives.
• Infocomm CTS

 

• Experience with is AMX control systems and Apple products
• Certified in DM systems (DMC-D, DMC-T or DMC-E)

 

Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Security clearance
