MicroTech Tops Washington Technology 8(a) ListAfter last year’s number two ranking in the 2008 Washington Technology Top 25 8(a) list, there was no place for MicroTech to go but up. MicroTech Named to CRN Fast Growth 100
MicroTech Named to CRN Fast Growth 100Channel Web and CRN.com has ranked MicroTech third in the country among technology resellers in their 2009 Fast Growth 100. This is the first time that MicroTech has appeared on the list of top systems integrators. The national survey was based on outstanding business growth between 2006 and 2008. MicroTech’s third-place finish is even more impressive based on an uneven reseller market when many technology customers nationwide are pulling back on IT expenditures.

This is just the latest award MicroTech has recently received based on business growth. MicroTech Profiled in Potential Business Acquisition Article
MicroTech Profiled in Potential Business Acquisition Article MicroTech is profiled in an informative article — “MicroTech Seeks Complementary Buys, Open to Banker Ideas, CEO Says” — this month at Mergermarket.com; the subscriber-based publication provides proprietary intelligence on potential business deals and valuations.

The article quotes MicroTech President & CEO Tony Jimenez about potential deals that could complement the company's service line. “We love to make acquisitions,” Jimenez tells Mergermarket. The piece points out that MicroTech has made three acquisitions since its launch in 2004 without any remaining debt.

In the article, an industry insider claims, “MicroTech could eventually be a target for…defense prime contractors…that may show interest as they have a robust presence in the federal IT space.” Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and General Dynamics are mentioned as possible suitors.

An excerpt from the Mergermarket.com article:

“[MicroTech] remains classified as a small business, as the federal government uses a three year average to determine which companies are under the USD 25m revenue criteria, Jimenez said.

MicroTech has no plans to sell as it sees strong growth ahead. That said, MicroTech will always listen to ideas, and is open to the right opportunity, [Jimenez] said.”
