Vienna, VA, November 7, 2008—The Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA) named Anthony (Tony) Jimenez, President and CEO of MicroTech, as the LISTA “Chief Executive Officer of the Year” for 2008.
Each year, LISTA honors top Latino industry executives from across the country at its National Latino Technology Achievers Gala Awards Dinner. Tony Jimenez received his award along with many other distinguished honorees, October 30, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Miami.
Upon receiving word of the award, Tony Jimenez observed, "It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by LISTA as CEO of the Year. I firmly believe in the mission of LISTA, which seeks to promote and advocate for the advancement of Latinos in the field of technology. At MicroTech, we seek to bring advanced technology to markets all over country and our success, in many ways, is due to the diverse talented and experienced technical teams we employ."
Since MicroTech’s launch in 2004, the Information Technology and Network Support provider has grown from fewer than 10 employees to now over 300. By selecting Tony Jimenez for its Chief Executive Officer of the Year, LISTA recognizes his contributions to the Hispanic community and business environment at large. In particular, LISTA noted his support of programs that expand opportunities for youth in the areas of literacy, computer technology, scholarships and internships. LISTA also noted his long-standing commitment to the advancement of technology, the Latino community, and philanthropic and diversity initiatives.
“Tony’s hard work through the years has opened the doors for many Latino and disabled veteran professionals in the technology industry, and he has been instrumental in strengthening corporate America's involvement in the education of Latino youth in technology," said Jose A. Marquez-Leon, President and Chief Executive Officer, LISTA. “Mr. Jimenez continues to amaze us as his company continues to grow, but it is what he does in his community that really impressed the selection committee.”
