Vienna, VA, April 15, 2009—Federal IT systems integrator MicroTech today announced it has been awarded a contract to provide Information Technology Infrastructure Management solutions to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agriculture Service.  The MicroTech contract supports the Information Technology Division (ITD) of the USDA, responsible for the acquisition, design, maintenance, and services of the IT program in support of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).

USDA’s FAS works to improve foreign market access for U.S. products and the competitive position of U.S. agriculture in the global marketplace. The FAS also enhances U.S. agriculture’s competitiveness by providing linkages to global resources and international organizations.

The contract is for five years, including options, and has an estimated total value of more than $25 million if all options are exercised.
