Vienna VA – August 20, 2010—MicroTech, a leading technology systems integrator, has been recognized by the U.S. Hispanic Advocacy Association (USHAA) as a 2010 Bravo Award winner.  The USHAA presents the prestigious award to only a select few successful small, minority and women-owned businesses, as well as Fortune 500 companies that have implemented best practices in supplier diversity, workplace diversity, and marketplace diversity. MicroTech was honored based on a demonstrated track record of good business practices and philanthropy, and as an outstanding leadership example for minorities.

One of America’s small business success stories, MicroTech provides Systems Integration, Technology Solutions, and Unified Communications and Collaboration primarily in government computing environments — managing over half-a-million tech users in the Public Sector daily. A Prime Contractor on more than 100 Federal projects and 20-plus contract vehicles, MicroTech offers access to 500,000 tech products and services across the government.

“We are very appreciative of the U.S. Hispanic Advocacy Association to recognize us with the Bravo Award,” said Tony Jimenez, President & CEO of MicroTech. “Embracing good business practices has been a key contributor to our success. And a commitment to diversity and philanthropy has been a goal since day one, allowing us to relate to a broader customer base, give back to the community, and offer opportunities to veterans and minorities who sometimes need a hand up while forging a business or a career. They are simply part of the core strength of our business.”

MicroTech was presented the Bravo award at the USHAA event — "Turning Adversity into Opportunities: U.S. Fortune 500 Meets Hispanic 500." The event included senior executives from leading Hispanic 500 and Fortune 500 companies, and following the ceremony, the award winners were treated to participation in the Closing Bell ceremony at NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square. MicroTech COO Steve Truitt was on hand to receive the Bravo award and ring the closing bell.

Along with MicroTech, 2010 Bravo award winners included IBM, Cummins, and Kaiser Permanente.

As the premier national Hispanic economic advocacy association, the USHAA offers a strong and independent voice for members and the estimated 42 million Hispanic consumers. The organization seeks to unite Latinos by focusing on issues that build capacity, create accountability and foster partnerships.

"The Bravo Award recognizes the kind of success that comes from implementing diversity best practices to build strong relationships with Hispanic consumers and honors business enterprises focused on long-term strategic worth," stated Luis J. Diaz, USHAA's President & CEO.
